Accreditations must be kept up to date every four years. This is done by earning CPD/updating points throughout the valid accreditation period. There are two mandatory elements to updating- Practical coaching or umpiring accounts for 50% of updating points required. The Rules of Netball exam is also mandatory for both coaching and umpiring accreditations. Completion and passing of the exam earns 5 points. Any and all other points are earned by completing NV workshops and (Coaches in the Field or Umpires in the Field, Conference, camps/development days) or other workshops/courses run by Member Organisations. These will provide between 5-10 points per event. Events run by private institutions or companies do not contribute to professional development requirements. There are also a number of online courses available through Netball Learning which provide 5 points.
What if my accreditation has expired?
Accreditations that have already expired may be considered for reinstatement, if the member can provide evidence of practical coaching and learnings completed during the valid accreditation period. At a minimum, coaches and umpires must have a current completion of the Rules of Netball exam. Members can email learning@netball.com.au or NV can apply for reinstatement on behalf of a member.
Netball Australia will only consider updates/reinstatements up to 48 months/4 years from expiration date. If an accreditation has been expired for more than 4 years, the member must begin the accreditation pathway from the beginning (ie. Foundation for coaching), regardless of level of accreditation last held.
Netball Learning will notify members via email of upcoming expiration dates at 1 year, 6 months and 1 month prior to expiration.
